Hyland Software, creator of OnBase, makes improvements to their product every day, but yesterday was a little bigger than most. Hyland entered into agreement to acquire Perceptive Software, a popular suite of document management software that includes products such as ImageNow, Brainware, and Nolij. The agreement stems from Lexmark’s recent divestiture of their Software portfolio to Thoma Bravo, a private equity firm that also owns Hyland.
Thoma Bravo acquired Perceptive Software, and popular document capture businesses, Kofax and ReadSoft. Kofax & ReadSoft will become a stand-alone company, led by existing leadership, but leaves the door open for future partnership opportunities with OnBase. There are a number of OnBase, Perceptive, Kofax, Image Now, & Nolij customers in the Pacific Northwest, so these moves bolster OnBase’s position as the leading Enterprise Content Management software provider.
